Oh Happy Day!

It's Mother's Day and I am so thankful that I am a Mama and I have this day to celebrate. I reminded Ryan, several times today, that today is my day therefore, I get to do exactly what I want. He graciously acknowledged the day and let me proceed as I wished. I do have to admit that this really isn't much different from the remaining 364 days of the year. Ryan always graciously let's me proceed as I wish. I think that's why we work so well together.

Speaking of working together, we did just that when we made this little cutie.

Honestly, I'm thankful everyday to have this little blessing, to be a mother, to experience life in a whole new way and to have the family that we have built. It is nice however, to have this one day where my two favs show me just how much they really do love me. Especially my sweet, sweet Madison. Several times today she excitedly exclaimed "Happy Mother's Day, Mama!" Ryan only prompted her once and she just kept it going. I loved it more and more each time she said it.

I spent this weekend focused on our little gal, spending time together, doing the things we both love and putting everything else on the back burner. I got some words of wisdom from a very special person in my life today....Live in the moment. And that is exactly what we did. It felt so good, that we might just keep doing it!

Madison and I took a little trip to the local paint your own pottery joint.  After scouring the shelves of pottery for that one special piece we settled on a pitcher.  Actually she wanted to paint a sock monkey figurine but it was my money and I wanted something we could use and not something we'd have to dust.  So, I won.  Besides....it is Mother's Day.

I have never seen Madison so focused on one task in a long time. We spent forty-five minutes painting this one pitcher using four different colors. She was deliberate in the placement of each brush stroke while turning and turning the pitcher to insure that we covered all of the major areas.

We also worked on trying to ride her tricycle again. She wants to know how to ride it so bad. It's the first thing she asks for once we go outside. Her legs reach now and can go all the way around but she's just not understanding how to push the pedals. Well, when it comes to going forward. Backwards she can do but forward is a different story. So, we will keep trying.

Madison and I dressed alike today. It was awesome! So, of course I had to get some pictures of us. Well, little Miss Bossy Dress decided that she would be in charge and direct the photo shoot. We couldn't hold hands:

On the sidewalk, she had to be there and I here:

She had to sit on this big rock:

Again, no holding hands:

I did threaten her once and told her we weren't going to see her Nana and Pap unless she got right next to me and said cheese:

Hey, you do what you got to do.

Until next time.......
